The cerebellar transform is the core.
It appears to be a structural requirement in the physics of living things that there exists not only an outside and inside but a generative core in which is located the identity of the organism. The addition of the generative core makes perfect sense given the entire vertebrate phylum as well as the ubiquitous presence of such a pattern at all scales.
In the engineering complex automated systems the good regulator theorem states that every regulator of a system must be an internal model of that system. This is basically like saying that every complex automated system must contain an internal model in order to function optimally.
This simple requirement of a core fundamentally changes how we look at our own bodies. The cerebellum as an internal model takes on great significance. The anatomical and motoric or musculoskeletal core of the vertebrate body is a postural system that we in the somatic arts are quite familiar with. We experience a profound shift in our thinking when we grant selfhood, or subjectivity, to this system and then give it our attention. This is the cerebellar transform.
