Possible or Impossible? Rapid consciousnesss change. The emergence of Consilience as a cognitive faculty.

Get serious. Talk to me.

There was an Age of Enlightenment at the start of modernity. They felt it. Why can’t we? This is as momentous an historical era, but with a radically new form of cognition.

The Age of Reason. 17th and 18th century Europe. It was powerful and very new. We thought it was so great that we imposed it everywhere. That’s what got us into this mess. Our cognitive faculties are deeply imbalanced, as is our civilization.

Why can’t a second Age of Enlightenment already be well underway? Why wouldn’t this be something that we have been working on all along?

Today we call it, among other things, understanding the coordination dynamics of complex living systems. In the past we called it natural philosophy and there was always a powerful somatic tradition. There are many of us still working within that tradition quite consciously.

There are many diverse and brilliant answers that exist already and people are starting to find each other. This is Consilience and it is now.

Possible or Impossible? Rapid consciousnesss change. The emergence of Consilience as a cognitive faculty.

Get serious. Talk to me.
