The revolution begins from within

Consilience relies upon inductive reasoning. An emergent new truth has to be able to address many desperate facts and problems. It fundamentally changes how we see things and in this case the shift is learning to see from within. This begins in the body with interoception. It is concrete and real and practical and as profound as it gets.
I teach the anatomy of the interoceptive sensory motor system. The point is not that it is new abstract knowledge. The point is the sensory motor system where we live deep within.
Bringing this to consciousness is the revolution and it sets the stage for seeing others and the earth and life from within. This is the revolution and it is gentle and peaceful and safe.
Modernity has established, seeing things from the outside in. The sensory motor system of exteroception includes the five conventional senses that we are well aware of as well as the outer skin of the body. Exteroception is the basis of our conventional perceptual functioning. Exteroception provides all the knowledge and evidence that we require for science and reason. It is however profoundly biased and incomplete without interoception.
Exteroception involves the dynamic muscular system and the big movements of our extremities that are plainly obvious to conscious thought. In contrast, the interoceptive sensory motor system involves the deep core, our primal axial line, and the postural system of muscles. These of course are much deeper and more subtle and harder to be aware of. However they are not designed to be arcane or abstract or dissociated. They are extremely richly innervated and we integrate them easily, naturally and intuitively. They are easy to be aware of. It is simply a different path, more like yoga or tai chi. This is a vast untapped potential for a major perceptual shift. This is the civilization level paradigm shift and it starts from within.
We are at a turning point in history, a genuine civilization level paradigm shift. Apocalypse in Greek means revelation. The revolution is a cognitive shift. Learning to see from within means reconnecting with our animal intelligence. This is pre-verbal and is a classic right brain activity. The right hemisphere of the brain in the context of the gross overdevelopment of the left hemisphere is the answer that we are seeking. This sensitive inner postural sensory motor system brings us together from the inside out. This kind of centering and grounding self knowledge is the cognitive basis for bringing us together socially and ecologically.
