This sweet Japanese anime is an ecological marvel featuring a village full of humans and very human-like “yokai”, or diverse folkloric spirits and creatures, as well as things like demons and mountain gods. They all live together in a modern rural town that is also harmony of different community roles full of sacred traditions and sensitive respect. There are many deep and tender messages in these weekly episodes.
If you like Miyazaki you’ll love this gentle tale of a newly born Nekkomata, a household cat that evolves into a magical cat with two tails and that talks. He is a pure-hearted newly born spirit that comes to understand himself and others in the course of a variety of adventures in the village.
This is excellent story telling and anime production with a very joyful and healing message. It is quite simpleand profound.
Get some tea and make sure to listen to the Japanese voice art rather than the dumb dub.
